The Feast at MSG: Fanum Leading Eastern Conference with 13.9 Rebounds per Contest
New York Taxers’ physical forward is turning second-chance opportunities into prime Atlantic Division wins.
NEW YORK — When the ball hits the rim at Madison Square Garden, power forward Fanum treats every missed shot as mandatory tax. Averaging 13.9 rebounds per game, the 6’3”, 280-pound enforcer leads the Eastern Conference in offensive rebounds per 48 minutes.
New York’s physical style of play was on full display in their recent nailbiter against Atlanta, where Fanum corralled 18 total rebounds and notched 23 points. His relentless interior positioning consistently forces opposing frontcourts into early foul trouble.
“Fanum’s box-out discipline creates four to five extra possessions every night,” New York head coach Big Mike remarked. “In the Atlantic Division, physical presence wins games, and Fanum brings that tenacity every single night.”
"If the ball is in the air, that is my ball. We collect our tax on every rebound and push the pace."
