Film Room: How Duke Dennis’s 37-Point Masterclass Unlocked Texas Edgers’ 121-116 Victory Over Denver
Breaking down the half-court spacing, pick-and-roll reads, and fourth-quarter execution from Texas Edgers’ win over Denver Smurf Cats.
AUSTIN — Reviewing the tape from Texas Edgers’ 121-116 triumph over the Denver Smurf Cats reveals a clinic in modern offensive spacing. Operating out of high ball screens, Duke Dennis recorded 37 points and 4 assists while utilizing his signature "The 1920s DeeBlock Post Fadeaway" to punish every defensive coverage Denver deployed.
Whenever Denver Smurf Cats sent a second defender above the three-point line, Duke Dennis calmly hit Turkish Quandale (18 PTS, 3 REB) in the short roll to create immediate four-on-three advantages. Even with Shailushai (Smurf Cat) answering for Denver with 24 points, Texas Edgers’ shot quality in the final six minutes proved decisive.
Looking ahead to today’s 2029 BBL World Finals slate (2029-06-18), attention shifts to Bay Harbor Goobers visiting Vegas V-Bucks at The Battle Bus Pavilion (7:00 PM EST, BBL TV / NBA TV), where Bomboclaat Pizzaiolo and Fortnite Jonesy headline the marquee matchup.
"Duke Dennis read every tag defender on the floor tonight. Scoring 37 points with 4 assists against Denver Smurf Cats is textbook point-of-attack execution."
