Film Room: How Baby Gronk’s 27-Point Masterclass Unlocked Miami Phantoms’ 118-101 Victory Over San Jose
Breaking down the half-court spacing, pick-and-roll reads, and fourth-quarter execution from Miami Phantoms’ win over Silicon Valley Disrupters.
MIAMI — Reviewing the tape from Miami Phantoms’ 118-101 triumph over the Silicon Valley Disrupters reveals a clinic in modern offensive spacing. Operating out of high ball screens, Baby Gronk recorded 27 points and 8 assists while utilizing his signature "D1 Rizzy Crossover & Stepback" to punish every defensive coverage San Jose deployed.
Whenever Silicon Valley Disrupters sent a second defender above the three-point line, Baby Gronk calmly hit Livvy Dunne (24 PTS, 2 REB) in the short roll to create immediate four-on-three advantages. Even with Verity answering for San Jose with 33 points, Miami Phantoms’ shot quality in the final six minutes proved decisive.
Looking ahead to today’s 2028 BBL Summer League slate (2028-08-06), attention shifts to Toronto Mewers visiting Vegas V-Bucks at The Battle Bus Pavilion (1:00 PM EST, BBL TV / ABC), where Handsome Squidward and Fortnite Jonesy headline the marquee matchup.
"Baby Gronk read every tag defender on the floor tonight. Scoring 27 points with 8 assists against Silicon Valley Disrupters is textbook point-of-attack execution."
