Film Room: How Grimace’s 24-Point Masterclass Unlocked Boston Grimaces’ 108-98 Victory Over Denver
Breaking down the half-court spacing, pick-and-roll reads, and fourth-quarter execution from Boston Grimaces’ win over Denver Smurf Cats.
BOSTON — Reviewing the tape from Boston Grimaces’ 108-98 triumph over the Denver Smurf Cats reveals a clinic in modern offensive spacing. Operating out of high ball screens, Grimace recorded 24 points and 4 assists while utilizing his signature "Purple Swat & Paint Lockdown" to punish every defensive coverage Denver deployed.
Whenever Denver Smurf Cats sent a second defender above the three-point line, Grimace calmly hit Birdie the Early Bird (20 PTS, 5 REB) in the short roll to create immediate four-on-three advantages. Even with Shailushai (Smurf Cat) answering for Denver with 19 points, Boston Grimaces’ shot quality in the final six minutes proved decisive.
Looking ahead to today’s 2028 BBL Summer League slate (2028-08-02), attention shifts to Golden State Sahurs visiting Miami Phantoms at South Beach Void Arena (7:00 PM EST, BBL TV / TNT), where Tung Tung Tung Sahur and Baby Gronk headline the marquee matchup.
"Grimace read every tag defender on the floor tonight. Scoring 24 points with 4 assists against Denver Smurf Cats is textbook point-of-attack execution."
