Film Room: How Baby Gronk’s 29-Point Masterclass Unlocked Miami Phantoms’ 123-116 Victory Over Denver
Breaking down the half-court spacing, pick-and-roll reads, and fourth-quarter execution from Miami Phantoms’ win over Denver Smurf Cats.
MIAMI — Reviewing the tape from Miami Phantoms’ 123-116 triumph over the Denver Smurf Cats reveals a clinic in modern offensive spacing. Operating out of high ball screens, Baby Gronk recorded 29 points and 11 assists while utilizing his signature "D1 Rizzy Crossover & Stepback" to punish every defensive coverage Denver deployed.
Whenever Denver Smurf Cats sent a second defender above the three-point line, Baby Gronk calmly hit The Rizzler (22 PTS, 10 REB) in the short roll to create immediate four-on-three advantages. Even with Shailushai (Smurf Cat) answering for Denver with 29 points, Miami Phantoms’ shot quality in the final six minutes proved decisive.
Looking ahead to today’s 2027-28 Preseason slate (2027-09-25), attention shifts to Texas Edgers visiting Golden State Sahurs at The Sahur Pavilion at Chase Center (1:00 PM EST, BBL TV / TNT), where Duke Dennis and Tung Tung Tung Sahur headline the marquee matchup.
"Baby Gronk read every tag defender on the floor tonight. Scoring 29 points with 11 assists against Denver Smurf Cats is textbook point-of-attack execution."
