Film Room: How Fanum’s 29-Point Masterclass Unlocked New York Taxers’ 114-108 Victory Over Portland
Breaking down the half-court spacing, pick-and-roll reads, and fourth-quarter execution from New York Taxers’ win over Portland GigaChads.
NEW YORK — Reviewing the tape from New York Taxers’ 114-108 triumph over the Portland GigaChads reveals a clinic in modern offensive spacing. Operating out of high ball screens, Fanum recorded 29 points and 4 assists while utilizing his signature "The Feast Offensive Putback Jam" to punish every defensive coverage Portland deployed.
Whenever Portland GigaChads sent a second defender above the three-point line, Fanum calmly hit Blicky the Pullup (23 PTS, 6 REB) in the short roll to create immediate four-on-three advantages. Even with GigaChad answering for Portland with 25 points, New York Taxers’ shot quality in the final six minutes proved decisive.
Looking ahead to today’s 2027 BBL Summer League slate (2027-07-23), attention shifts to Boston Grimaces visiting Toronto Mewers at The Jawline Pavilion (7:00 PM EST, BBL TV / ESPN), where Grimace and Handsome Squidward headline the marquee matchup.
"Fanum read every tag defender on the floor tonight. Scoring 29 points with 4 assists against Portland GigaChads is textbook point-of-attack execution."
