Film Room: How Duke Dennis’s 38-Point Masterclass Unlocked Texas Edgers’ 123-119 Victory Over Brooklyn
Breaking down the half-court spacing, pick-and-roll reads, and fourth-quarter execution from Texas Edgers’ win over Brooklyn Bomboclaats.
AUSTIN — Reviewing the tape from Texas Edgers’ 123-119 triumph over the Brooklyn Bomboclaats reveals a clinic in modern offensive spacing. Operating out of high ball screens, Duke Dennis recorded 38 points and 7 assists while utilizing his signature "The 1920s DeeBlock Post Fadeaway" to punish every defensive coverage Brooklyn deployed.
Whenever Brooklyn Bomboclaats sent a second defender above the three-point line, Duke Dennis calmly hit Lone Star Lock (22 PTS, 3 REB) in the short roll to create immediate four-on-three advantages. Even with Matteo the Hand Gesture Sniper answering for Brooklyn with 33 points, Texas Edgers’ shot quality in the final six minutes proved decisive.
Looking ahead to today’s 2027 BBL Summer League slate (2027-06-29), attention shifts to Silicon Valley Disrupters visiting Boston Grimaces at The Purple Garden (7:00 PM EST, BBL TV / NBA TV), where Verity and Grimace headline the marquee matchup.
"Duke Dennis read every tag defender on the floor tonight. Scoring 38 points with 7 assists against Brooklyn Bomboclaats is textbook point-of-attack execution."
