Film Room: How Duke Dennis’s 37-Point Masterclass Unlocked Texas Edgers’ 118-116 Victory Over Denver
Breaking down the half-court spacing, pick-and-roll reads, and fourth-quarter execution from Texas Edgers’ win over Denver Smurf Cats.
AUSTIN — Reviewing the tape from Texas Edgers’ 118-116 triumph over the Denver Smurf Cats reveals a clinic in modern offensive spacing. Operating out of high ball screens, Duke Dennis recorded 37 points and 4 assists while utilizing his signature "The 1920s DeeBlock Post Fadeaway" to punish every defensive coverage Denver deployed.
Whenever Denver Smurf Cats sent a second defender above the three-point line, Duke Dennis calmly hit Longhorn Luke (21 PTS, 6 REB) in the short roll to create immediate four-on-three advantages. Even with Shailushai (Smurf Cat) answering for Denver with 24 points, Texas Edgers’ shot quality in the final six minutes proved decisive.
Looking ahead to today’s 2026-27 Regular Season slate (2027-03-21), attention shifts to Miami Phantoms visiting Atlanta Rizzlers at The AMP Dome (1:00 PM EST, BBL League Pass), where Baby Gronk and Kai Cenat headline the marquee matchup.
"Duke Dennis read every tag defender on the floor tonight. Scoring 37 points with 4 assists against Denver Smurf Cats is textbook point-of-attack execution."
