Film Room: How Big Boom’s 25-Point Masterclass Unlocked New York Taxers’ 107-98 Victory Over Denver
Breaking down the half-court spacing, pick-and-roll reads, and fourth-quarter execution from New York Taxers’ win over Denver Smurf Cats.
NEW YORK — Reviewing the tape from New York Taxers’ 107-98 triumph over the Denver Smurf Cats reveals a clinic in modern offensive spacing. Operating out of high ball screens, Big Boom recorded 25 points and 1 assists while utilizing his signature "The Double Chunk Tomahawk Jam" to punish every defensive coverage Denver deployed.
Whenever Denver Smurf Cats sent a second defender above the three-point line, Big Boom calmly hit Fanum (22 PTS, 15 REB) in the short roll to create immediate four-on-three advantages. Even with Shailushai (Smurf Cat) answering for Denver with 25 points, New York Taxers’ shot quality in the final six minutes proved decisive.
Looking ahead to today’s 2026-27 Regular Season slate (2027-01-16), attention shifts to Vegas V-Bucks visiting Toronto Mewers at The Jawline Pavilion (1:00 PM EST, BBL League Pass), where Fortnite Jonesy and Handsome Squidward headline the marquee matchup.
"Big Boom read every tag defender on the floor tonight. Scoring 25 points with 1 assists against Denver Smurf Cats is textbook point-of-attack execution."
